The owners, Shawn and Shawnasy Bennett purchased Grace Tree Service in January of 2016. A romanticized view of the west and a good friend with a job offer brought Shawn to Idaho in 1994 where he met Shawnasy. They ran into one another at the Newport Rodeo and were married 2 years later in Farragut State Park. Shawnasy was born and raised in North Idaho and has worked in the private business sector for years. Shawn started working for the then owner of Grace Tree Service, Tim Kastning and achieved his certification for a Certified Arborist and Certified Risk Assessor. When 2016 came and Tim was ready to sell he held up his end of a gentleman’s agreement and sold the Company to Shawn and Shawnasy. They have 2 children and enjoy taking advantages of all that Coeur d’ Alene has to offer. They are very involved with the community other local businesses.
Shawn Bennett has been in the tree care industry for over 20 years. Originally from the upper peninsula of Michigan, he moved out west to start his career in forestry, specifically tree genetics. After a number of years working in the woods, his focus shifted to more residential tree care. Shortly after he attained his International Society of Arboriculture certification while working at Grace Tree Service. In 2016 Shawn purchased Grace Tree Service with his wife from previous employer and family friend, Tim Kastning. Shawn enjoys exploring what the west has to offer. You might run across him at a lake, hot springs, or an old western ghost town with his family. .
Shawnasy Bennett is a 3rd generation northern Idahoan who grew up on a small family farm. Her background in the business field spans over 20 years. She started at Dan Barton Dealership in payroll and accounts receivables, then gained more experience from other dealerships working in bookkeeping. After a period of time she became a stay at home mom and worked part time at KMC as a Certified Nursing Assistant. While taking classes for accounting at North Idaho College she worked as a receptionist at a local law office. She now owns Grace Tree Service with her husband and works diligently as the full time bookkeeper and mother of 2. Shawnasy enjoys living a healthy lifestyle, hiking and spending time with her family.
Devon Braithwaite is the General Manager here at Grace Tree Service. He has worked for us for 12 years starting off as a grounds man and working his way up to where he is now. Originally from northern California, he moved up to Idaho shortly before starting at Grace Tree Service to enjoy the slower pace of life and to be closer to family and friends. Devon is happily married and enjoys boating, shooting, and projects around the house.
Matthew Hersel joined Grace Tree Service in early 2016 and has a long history of working in the outdoors. His past work includes over 8 years in the logging industry and multiple summers for the Idaho Fish and Game as a bio-aide working with many of our beloved fish species here in Idaho. He comes from McCall, a small town in central Idaho, and enjoys the Coeur d' Alene area for its similarity in outdoor activity’s he grew up around. He enjoys fly fishing, hunting, and going back to McCall to see family and friends
Nolan Meece joined Grace Tree Service in the late winter of 2015. He moved to the Coeur d' Alene area from a small town called Darrington, WA. He was a 3rd generation logger before moving the area and getting into the urban forestry sector. He is one of our top climbers here at Grace Tree Service. Nolan enjoy being outside, dirt biking, snowboarding and spending quality time with family and friends.
Mike Korab has worked for Grace Tree Service for 7 years. With previous history in the sawmill industry for over 25 years. Happily married, with one son he enjoys woodworking, being outside and the simple things life has to offer. Originally from Wisconsin he moved to Idaho in 92' to be closer to family. Mike brings experience and confidence to our crews.
Chris has been with the Grace Tree Service team since spring of 17'. He came to us with a long history of wild-land firefighting and has extensive knowledge of being a sawyer. His years in the tree industry have taught him to appreciate and respect this type of work. Originally from Priest Lake, Idaho, he enjoys back country snowmobiling the area has to offer as well as hunting and fishing.
Amy is our office administrator and has taken over marketing and customer service. She has worked in many different fields from agriculture, horticulture, forestry, the service industry and the medical field. Amy enjoys hunting, riding horses, and spending time with her dog and friends. She brings a fresh upbeat attitude to our office.
Jesse a native of Coeur d' Alene, is one of our new addition's. He comes to us with a great work ethic and positive attitude. He enjoys meeting new people, traveling around the world and has a passion for the outdoors. He is excited to be a part of Grace Tree Service and we are excited to have him on our team!
Chris is from Hayden, ID and is the eldest of the Bennett children. He enjoys fishing, camping, and hunting on the weekends. He is eager to be a part of the family business and is looking forward to learning the tree care trade.
Dalton is our new mechanic and comes to us from the bluff country of Minnesota. His background includes diesel mechanics and working on F-18's in the Marine Corps. He enjoys fishing, hunting, rodeo, and is excited to explore what North Idaho has to offer. His organization and drive will be a great addition to our team.
Elijah joined our crew at the beginning of the season and is from the Couer d' Alene area. He has been a youth group leader for the last 6 years and he and his wife just welcomed their first baby! He is excited to peruse a career in Arborculture and learn all it has to offer. Elijah brings his positivity in every day and we are exited to have him!
Kyle is from Bonners Ferry and his back round includes working in North Dakota on the oil rigs and personal training. He has discovered the field of arborculture and has his heart set on becoming a proficient tree climber. Kyle is looking forward to spending this summer on his new boat with his fiance.We are looking forward to having him be a part of our tree crew!
Zoe has been a great help in keeping the raccoons and bandits away. Her speed and agility makes her an excellent member of the Grace team!
Ruger has been our office greeter for a while now and has received high praise in this position. We are happy to have him on board.
